1st Birthday!!

For Sutton's 1st birthday we took him to Rain Forest Cafe. His friends Gage and Gavin came too and they had fun looking at everything. Sutton thought it was cool to turn 1 but mostly I think he liked his balloons!

"I HATE this cake!" Which he really did! Haha! It was so sad! He was tired and wanted NOTHING to do with it! Cried and cried and cried....oh well! Didn't like his smash cake either that we took pictures with earlier that day!

"FINALLY!" He got his bottle and all was good!

The Making of the Cake!

Ashley and I made a "jungle" cake to take to the Rain Forest Cafe. It turned out really cute! We made the cutest little animals out of marshmallow fondant. (ALL Ashley's doing of course! I am SO not creative like that!) It is a good thing Ash is so crafty because I NEVER would have done this! I walked into her house and she had the fondant made and pictures of what we were making...I was so nervous! Once we started it wasn't so bad and I got the hang of it. Thanks Ash! You rock!

1 Year Old!

Sutton had his first birthday!!! This is why I have this annoying backround this month and the font is kind of hard to read! Come back in March for something new! I really didn't cry on his birthday but as I sit to write this post tears are coming to my eyes! I just remember how hard it was to get him here and since he came how much joy he has brought to our lives! I can not believe how time has flown! My friends mom couldn't have said it better...she said "the year went way faster than the 9 months we waited for them to hatch!" So true! He changes so quickly...he does something new everyday...this week he started to give hugs. He loves to play peek-a-boo! He puts to phone to his ear and walks around....which is so cute! He likes to follow mommy around and help her with the laundry. He takes all the clothes out of the dryer and puts them back in. And he likes toilets...unfortunately.... I have to keep all the bathroom doors shut, and if I forget I hear SPLISH, SPLASH, SPLISH, SPLASH." He likes toilet paper too...he will make a quick grab for it and run out of the bathroom before I can catch him. I still can't believe he walked before a year. This year has been so much fun and I can't wait for the years to come! We absolutely love our little boy!

Christmas

Our first Christmas with Sutton was a lot of fun! We had a white Christmas which never happens in here! We ended up traveling that day (which turned out to be crazy!) but had our little Christmas at our house first. Sutton actually really enjoyed opening gifts! I think it was probably more fun for Tim and I of course! We were excited when Sutt woke up at 6 so we didn't try to put him back to sleep like we normally do if he gets up that early. He was excited to see what Santa left him and all the presents under the tree. We opened gifts and then got ready to go to the airport where our flight was cancelled and were sent to Boise. Crazy we were able to see my family on Christmas day...they came to the airport and my parents were super excited to see Sutton (of course Tim and I don't matter any more :) jk) We finally arrived to Tim's parents two days late and had such a good time there! Sutton loved his grandma and grandpa and all his cousins....AND that is where he learned to walk! Sutton loved this huge strawberry shortcake doll...it was his "one true love" as his cousin put it. So they arranged a wedding for the two that everyone had to attend. It was so funny!

Santa Came!

Opening gifts is so much fun!

He got toilet paper for Christmas and a car toy!

Great Grandma got Sutty a Curious George stuffed animal and he LOVED it! The second he opened it he looked up at us...smiled...and started giving him big hugs! It was so cute!

Sutton had his first steps at Tim's parents house over the holidays. We were lucky to get I think the third time he walked on video..

Sutt and I went to visit my parents too...he had fun with all his new toys

Uncle Seth was so cute with Sutt. He would drag him around on this blanket. Sutty would crawl over to it, look and Seth, and wait for him to take him for a ride.

Both our parents were so nice to let us go out while we were visiting. Seth and I went to a movie one night and this is what I came home too. Grandpa asleep with Sutt on the couch.
